Mama Shu is a woman of many talents and who has lived what seems like many lives - who is now building a 21st-century sustainable eco-village within Metro Detroit.
After the tragic loss of her son, Jakobi, in a hit and run accident, Mama Shu set out to revitalize her community, make it a safer and better place for children to live, and turn her grief into joy. Mama Shu founded Avalon Village in honor of her son Jakobi and now his legacy lives on through this community.
